The size of a dog is apparently no indication of how much owners are ready to extravagantly spend on it. Chihuahuas, the pint-magnitude dog special by celebutantes like Paris Hilton, topped the slant of breeds the people fritter the most money on, according to a British study.
Chihuahuas -- the breed favored by Paris Hilton and Britney Spears (who reportedly once treated her dog Bitbit to a $180 steak at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas) -- these owners lavish about $197,000, much of that presumably in clothing, earrings and other luxuries.
Dear Britney, I know you love Bitbit, but table food is not good – too fattening. Read my Blog on “What to Feed Your Dog”. The Labrador, by comparison, has about $60,000 exhausted on it during its life. Poor Labrador probably wishes he or she was born a Chihuahua.
The study surveyed 3,000 dog owners in Great Britain and looked at the quantity spent for vets, food, grooming, kennels and cover, reach over the breed's mode life expectancy. On norm, the study stated, a dog owner spends about $62,000 during its lifetime. That's still some dough.
"Today's household pets are treated more like members of the family, and the feelings is reflected in the amount owners consume on they're pets' lifestyle," Mike Pickard, precede of pet insurance at esure, which conducted the study, told the UK Daily Record.
Well every female Chihuahua does need a tiara! Regardless, it is nice to see pets being treated more humanly, as they do have feelings, and give so much love and companionship. They can also add another 7 years to our life!
The chief expense of owning a dog, according to the study? Vet bills, followed by food and kennels.
